Collage as Decor: Freedom in the Wings

Freedom in the Wings Styled.png

Let's face it: Collages aren't maybe your go-to when it comes to styling your home.  A cross between a painting and a photo, a collage can capture meaningful emotions and create surreal pictures to bring joy and whimsy to your home.  Today, I'll be sharing four ways to style my original collage, Freedom in the Wings, that features an ethereal window, warm florals and horse floating away on a dandelion.  Read on to see it styled in boho, coastal farmhouse, eclectic and glamorous settings.

BOHEMIAN.

Boho style was the easiest for me to achieve with this specific painting. Something about all those floaty flowers and that powerful horse, I suppose!  You can find all the furniture and accessories at the links below the collage.

COASTAL FARMHOUSE.

I have been DYING for an excuse to style any of my work with this whitewashed barn wood frame--so styling Freedom in the Wings for a coastal farmhouse was perfect.  Featured accessories are natural and warm--and I especially love the stone knot sculpture. I could definitely see the painting on top of that six drawer dresser with candles and the knot stone in a guest room.  Click the links below to purchase any accessories that fit your style.

ECLECTIC.

My home is very eclectic in style--it's because I don't like to say no when I find a piece that I love, whether it fits into traditional decor style or not.  This mood board features funky and fun pieces (spy that birdy side table yet?) as well as some dramatic elements.  You can find each piece at the links below.

A pewter frame is my go-to for a more glamorous style, but you can also frame in silver.

Glam.

I grew up obsessed with old Hollywood movies and frequently fantasize about what it would be like to live in a modern-day Hollywood glam home.  So below are my picks for fluffy, luxurious textures and shiny accessories.  You can shop the furniture and accessories at the links below the image.

BACKSTORY ON FREEDOM IN THE WINGS.

This piece was one of the first pieces I created as a professional artist.  She is loaded with an emotional story, that I'll spare you the details on, but full of lingering hope.  The horse is surrounded by beauty and is floating out the window and a dandelion into the valley.  The backdrop in the window is actually a photo of the valley where it is believed that David fought and defeated the giant Goliath.  So, it is my hope that as Freedom in the Wings hangs in your home, no matter your style, she will bring you hope, and courage and faith that you can defeat the giants you might face..

Freedom in the Wings, my original artwork is now available to you as a print--that means you can customize its size and shape to fit your unique space at home.

Finding how an abstract piece of artwork that you LOVE can fit into your pre-existing decor style can be tricky, but with a little help and inspiration you can make it work perfectly!  I'm always available for a consult if you need help to pick out the perfect piece, or some ideas on styling the one you've got your eye on!
